Howdy neighbors! This week's lesson was finally back on track. Well, not completly instead of our usual 9:30 lesson, due to rain delay, our group was moved to 1 o'clock. We rode in the ''triangle." It is basily two tree lines and a corner in a pasture we do this in order to let hte younger kids get out of the arena, and for the older more advanced kids to get their horses ready and thinking for [[[[FOXHUNTING]]]] season. Im very excited. Indigo is a pro, but this will be my first year! Yay!
Anyways back on topic, sorry... After we rode the triangle for awhile, me and another more advanced rider took a quick canter around the field. I am so proud of Indigo, he was being ridden in a double copper twisted wire, but I switched him to a basic full check snaffle. He listen as good, if not better, than he did in the twisted wire! :)
Now for the bad news..... Our trainer chose to take the long way back to the long way back to the barn through what we call the ''horses' bedroom." It is an uphill and very slick way back through the woods. My trainer told me and the other advanced rider, Sara, to hold back and canter and get the jumps on our way up. Well, Me and Indy have always had a problem with this jump on the very top of the hill before it levels back out. Arg. Wouldn't you know RIGHT before we leave the ground, Indigo descides to either change his mind and runout or he just plain slid. Throughbred's and there feet. Ugh... Regardless of the reason, Indigo went one way, and I went the other. The scary thing about it is my helmet came off completly. Unsnapped and everything. I don't knoe about it sometimes....
P.S---Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Indigo and I will be at a horse clinic. If I'm lucky I'll get a post up on either Sunday or if I'm REALLY LUCKY i'll get opne up all three days. xoxo--Josie an Indyy.
We show'd 'em Indy..
